Section 7 invites top SoCal teams to Arizona; players to watch, schedule, brackets

The biggest – and coolest – high school boys basketball event of the summer begins Friday in Glendale, Ariz. at State Farm Stadium, home of the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals.

Yes, prep basketball in a football stadium.

Section 7 will start the morning of June 21 and conclude June 23 on Sunday afternoon. The event consists of 10 brackets and 160 NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) schools. That’s the ‘big’ part.

The ‘cool’ part is the way the event is set up. Twelve courts are built inside the stadium creating a unique tournament and providing an upscale, roomy atmosphere for players, coaches, media and college coaches during the live recruiting period.
