Section of major Limerick road to close for first time for concerts
Gardaí will close a section of a busy Limerick road for the first time as part of their management of the three Thomond Park gigs.
There will be a major traffic management plan in place this weekend to take account of the three Thomond Park gigs.
Snow Patrol take to the stage on Friday, Paulo Nutini is on Saturday night and Liam Gallagher winds up the big weekend with his concert marking the 30th anniversary of the release of the Oasis album Definitely Maybe.
Road closures will be in place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 3pm until approximately 11.30pm.
The full details of the road traffic management plan are in available here.
Gardaí are well used to managing concerts and match days at Thomond Park but in conjunction with Limerick City and County Council they have made a decision to close a section of the Old Cratloe Road for the first time.
The Old Cratloe Road will close between the TUS roundabout and Hassett’s Cross.
