A renowned Kildare pub that has been trading for over 100 years has been put up for sale by auction.

Market House, better known as ‘Andersons’, in Athy Co Kildare has built up a loyal customer base with many generations enjoying a pint during the last century of the establishment being open.

It occupies a strategic location on Emily Square with return access off Barrow Quay and offers huge potential for a new owner to develop the business further.

Market House is a terraced three-bay three-storey late Georgian house with a licensed premises on the ground floor and residential accommodation on the first and second floor which comes with the pub.

The original part of the property was built in the 1800s with further extensions built to the rear of the property since then.

Athy is a heritage town situated in south Kildare and has a population of approximately 11,035 people according to the last census. There are good road and rail links to Dublin and the rest of the country.
