Seven Ravens players make CBS top 100 NFL players ranking | Sporting News

The Baltimore Ravens are well represented in CBS’s Pete Prisco’s top 100 NFL players ranking.

The Ravens had seven total players make Prisco’s top 100. Only the San Francisco 49ers, with nine players, had more.

Here’s where Prisco ranked those seven Ravens players:

  • Lamar Jackson, No. 16
  • Kyle Hamilton, No. 36
  • Roquan Smith, No. 40
  • Justin Madubuike, No. 46
  • Mark Andrews, No. 61
  • Derrick Henry, No. 91
  • Tyler Linderbaum, No. 100

Perhaps the two most surprising omissions are cornerback Marlon Humphhrey and wide receiver Zay Flowers. Humphrey, however, only played 10 games last year because of injury. And though Flowers led the Ravens in receiving and had a strong year for a rookie, he still only hauled in 858 yards and 5 touchdowns, which are not standout numbers for a top receiver.

Ronnie Stanley could also conceivably make the list, though his play has suffered since injuries he suffered in 2020. Stanley has reportedly looked good in OTAs and minicamp and could be on the verge of a comeback season.

The real controversy comes at Jackson landing at 16, despite winning MVP for a second time and having his best passing season. Jackson lands behind Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow. While Mahomes is obviously the best player in football, Allen has not thrived in the playoffs (which was Prisco’s top critique of Jackson) while Burrow is coming off an injury-plagued season in which he played just 10 games.

Still, Prisco’s rankings are another validation of the Ravens’ talented roster. Pro Football Focus previously ranked 10 Ravens players in the top 32 at their position.
