Shopping Paddy’s Day Bank Holiday supermarket opening hours as time changes made

St Patrick’s Day 2024 falls on a Sunday with many planning a full Bank Holiday Weekend of craic, ceol, food and drink.

Galway city’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival runs from Friday 15 March till Monday 18 March, and many town and villages around the county are similarly hard at it preparing for the most Irish day of the year.




Many will be attending parades on Sunday and relaxing for the weekend with family and friends. People will also be hosting plenty of parties so knowing when the supermarkets shut is essential.

People are advised to check their local supermarket’s opening hours before the weekend begins to make sure they are all stocked up over the Bank Holiday Weekend centred around St. Patrick’s Day 2024, Sunday 17 March.

Here are all of the opening hours for Ireland’s main supermarkets over the St Patrick’s Day weekend:

Aldi

Aldi stores will operated their regular Sunday hours opening hours this St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday 17 March, which is 9am until 9pm. The shop will operate the Bank Holiday Monday 18 March from 9am till 9pm.
