With John O’Hara FG and Mark Duffy IND already elected to Mayo County Council for Ballina, there are six seats remaining.
Annie May Reape FF, Joe Faughnan IND, Michael Loftus FF all look like they will claim the third, fourth and fifth seats as it stands.
The illustrious final seat is between two candidates.
They are David Alexander FF candidate and outgoing FG cllr Jarlath Munnelly.
At the moment, Munnelly holds 1,073 votes while Alexander is on 1,065.
Count 4 is on the way with the distribution of votes from eliminated candidates Keith Howley IND and Jo Mullen.
