News 24 calculations show that several high-profile serving members of the Cabinet will not make it back to the National Assembly after the ANC lost 71 seats following a dismal election performance.

Police Minister Bheki Cele; Defence Minister Thandi Modise; Public Service and Administration Minister Noxolo Kiviet; International Relations Minister Naledi Pandor; Labour and Employment Minister Thulas Nxesi; and Social Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu are among those who won’t make the cut.

Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan and Trade, Industry & Competition Minister Ebrahim Patel announced their retirement from Parliament recently.
