South Africa v Ireland: Andy Farrell’s men looking for win in second Test against Springboks in Durban

Where to start with that half of rugby!? Ireland roared out of the blocks and Jack Crowley’s 6th-minute penalty put Andy Farrell’s side into an early lead. Springboks’ players looked shell-shocked, with Willie Le Roux and Franco Mostert forced to retire through a HIA and ankle injury respectively. Things got better for Ireland when Jamie Osborne, Robbie Hneshaw, and Conor Murray combined for a try in the 14th-minute.

South Africa responded with two penalties from Handre Pollard, but by and large the Boks have been living off scrum dominance and the occasional Irish mistake. Jack Crowley knocked over two late penalties before the half-time whistle sounded, restoring Ireland’s lead back ti 16-6. It has been a physical, attritional game from minute one today!
