South Carolina forward Chloe Kitts host basketball clinic in Oviedo
OVIEDO, Fla. — Chloe Kitts returned to her hometown Oviedo on Sunday to inspire young girls with a love for basketball.
She hosted a clinic at the Oviedo Recreational Center for girls ages 11 to 14, with about 30 attendees.
Kitts, a sophomore forward at the University of South Carolina, recently won her first NCAA Championship in the 2023-2024 season.
She expressed excitement about giving back to the community where she grew up playing basketball.
“It’s important to come back to my community where I played for years. I know many little girls look up to me and my team,” Kitts said.
She emphasized that basketball is a sport for everyone and noted the growing recognition of women’s basketball.
During the clinic, Kitts highlighted the importance of staying true to who you are.
“Just keep being confident in yourself, just keep playing,” she said. “It’s okay to express however you want, wear your lashes, get your hair done, you do you.”
Kitts also signed autographs and took pictures with attendees.
She’s preparing for the next season and looks forward to what the future holds.
