Spain 2-1 France LIVE: 16-year-old Yamal fires La Roja into Euro 2024 final
Well, he couldn’t resist
After France crashed out of Euro 2024, Jason Cundy couldn’t help but put the boot into Les Bleus with a French-themed ‘Has anyone seen’.
You don’t want to miss this one.
More Morata
So, it appears as if the security guard who slipped was trying to stop a pitch invader.
As the UEFA official tried to his job and protect Morata, he inadvertently slipped and clattered into the Spanish captain.
The striker was definitely in pain as he spent the rest of the celebrations limping around.
If he were to be injured, that would be a huge blow for La Roja in the final.
Starboy
Lamine Yamal’s performance was outstanding, but it was also mature.
The 16-year-old scored a wondergoal, but he also made a lot of the correct decisions with his passing.
The Spanish winger is playing with confidence and verve, and he will almost certainly be a major threat in the final.
Devastation
As much as France have made it to the latter stages of most tournaments over the last few years, they’ve suffered their fair share of heartbreak.
Les Bleus won the World Cup in 2018, but they lost the Euro 2016 and 2022 World Cup final.
This is now another exit for France near the latter end of a tournament, and there will be questions over Didier Deschamps’ future.
Not talking now, are you?
Ahead of the game this evening, Adrien Rabiot essentially called out Lamine Yamal.
In a pre-match press conference, the Frenchman said: “If Lamine wants to play in the final he will have to do more things than he has done so far.”
Remember, before his goal tonight, he had provided three assists.
But if that wasn’t enough, then beating Adrien Rabiot to score a wondergoal will probably keep Rabiot quiet.
And at the end of the game, the winger could be seen saying: “Speak now, Speak now.”
So, Rabiot has been well and truly shut up.
Joy
After years of dominance, it’s been a rough time for Spain, but this new generation are into the final.
La Roja have been brilliant all tournament and have beaten Germany, Italy and France.
