The Indian Trail boys tennis team saw its impressive season end Friday afternoon on the grandest stage of them all – the state tournament at Nielsen Stadium on the UW-Madison campus.
The WIAA Division 1 team state tournament pitted the Hawks, the 8 seed out of eight teams, against top-seeded Brookfield Central, and unfortunately for Trail the upset vibes weren’t on their side in a 7-0 loss.
The Hawks finished their season 6-3.
The Lancers went on to win the Division 1 team state championship Saturday afternoon with a grueling 4-3 battle against No. 2 Milwaukee Marquette.
In the semifinals, Central made short work of No. 5 Kimberly, 7-0.
