Status Yellow rain warning issued for four counties

Met Éireann has warned of the possibility of spot flooding as a Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for four counties.

The warning has been issued for Dublin, Louth, Meath and Wicklow and will be in operation from 10pm tonight until 6am tomorrow.

The forecaster said that heavy scattered showers overnight will merge to long spells to longer spells of rain in the north and east with the chance of thunderstorms and spot flooding

However, the rain will clear early tomorrow to leave a mostly dry morning with sunny spells, although further rain is expected later in the day, with temperatures of between 13 to 17C.

The weather will continue to be unsettled over the weekend and is expected to stay cool.
