On a warm summer’s evening in Dublin, Ernesta Brazauskaite was making her way home after socialising with friends when she was viciously assaulted in the street.

“At first I was with my group but then suddenly we all went in different directions,” says the Lithuanian, who has lived in Dublin for 10 years. “I wanted to catch the night bus and decided to walk by the Ha’penny Bridge as I thought it would be safer.”
