Strengthening HIV testing services in francophone countries from West and Central Africa and the Indian Ocean sub-region

From
25 to 27 June 2024, Francophone countries from West and Central Africa
and the Indian Ocean sub-region (Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon,
Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire,
Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali,
Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, and Togo) are meeting in Lomé, Togo, to
strengthen HIV testing services and integration.

Across 3-levels, WHO,
in collaboration with the Global Fund and UNAIDS will host this
workshop, which aims to support the identification of solutions to
address existing testing gaps and to strengthen testing and linkage
services. The meeting will welcome around 80 participants, including
representatives from the Ministries of Health, civil society and partner
organizations and coincides with the release of recent WHO guidance on
testing for HIV and viral hepatitis; providing countries an opportunity
to update and prioritize their national plans and strategies. This
workshop will be fully in French and will allow participants to exchange
lessons learned across countries and discuss challenges and
opportunities to improve HTS coverage and support the implementation of
integrated testing approaches.

The
workshop will be held over 3 days, consisting of presentations, plenary
sessions, and group works. The program will be designed to promote
active participation, engagement, and knowledge sharing among
participants.
