Sugababes perform in Hollyhill as Cork Apple staff treated to campus concert
Nobody does office parties like Apple does office parties. This week the tech giant treated its employees at the Hollyhill campus by flying in the Sugababes to perform in a huge outdoor gig.
The lunchtime concert was a great way to celebrate with staff as Apple’s Irish HQ marked its inclusion and diversity week with music and celebration. In a video shared widely among staff and across social media, the girl group can be seen singing their catchy hit ‘Round Round’ – one of the trio’s most popular tracks.
It was the second Cork concert in weeks for the Sugababes, who played Live at the Marquee in May.
The Cork Apple campus – which is the tech giant’s European HQ – has had a number of celebrity guests and music stars grace its outdoor stage to celebrate different events and themed weeks with staff. Last year, Irish music star Dermot Kennedy performed a surprise gig in Hollyhill.
Apple has run its Irish HQ from Cork since 1980, and currently employs over 6,000 staff across Cork in areas including AppleCare, Operations and Logistics. A major expansion is planned for the Hollyhill campus, with a new state-of-the-art, four-storey building and space for over 1,000 more staff.
The tech giant has said it is looking to “accelerate investment in Cork.”
