Sunshine Slam college basketball tournament announces 2024 return to Daytona Beach

The Sunshine Slam men’s college basketball tournament will return to Daytona Beach for the fourth straight year in 2024, and the details for this iteration were released Thursday.

Eight teams will compete at the Ocean Center on Nov. 25 and 26.

The programs will be split into two divisions: the Beach Bracket and the Ocean Bracket. Each will consist of semifinal games on Nov. 25 and the finals and a consolation contest on Nov. 26. Matchups and times will be announced at a later date.

The Beach Bracket features Clemson, Penn State, San Francisco and Fordham. Chicago State, Drexel, Purdue Fort Wayne and Radford make up the Ocean Bracket.

Clemson was the lone participant to qualify for the NCAA Tournament last spring. It charged to the Elite Eight.

Last year, Florida State claimed the Beach championship with an overtime win against Colorado while local school Stetson topped the Ocean standings by taking down Central Michigan in the finals.

This year’s field does not include a local presence.

Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com. They also will be available at the Ocean Center box office on the days of competition.
