Supermac’s new store opening leaves food lovers drooling as fans say about time
A new Supermac’s store is set to open in Dublin Airport after a long wait that has had fans of the burger chain practically foaming at the mouth.
The Galway based fast food joint was one of 23 new restaurants that were announced back in January to be opening or expanding at the airport in what has been described as the “final piece of the jigsaw.”
Supermacs and Papa Johns will open at T2 landside (pre security) moving into the space previously occupied by Wright’s of Howth.

This marks the end of a five year journey at the airport to develop the food on offer for passengers. There are now a total of 42 different outlets available across the two terminals.
Work on a number of units began in January and it was stated that more than half the new units were scheduled to open at the start of June.
Supermac’s looks to be in that lucky cohort as Dublin Airport posted a teasing video on X hinting that the franchise will soon be in operation.
Dublin Airport wrote: “Almost ready to go…” with a burger emoji and a video of a hand moving away from the camera to reveal the famous Supermac’s sign.
The airport’s social media team even had a fiery response to an Everton fan on X who wrote: “That’s uninspired to say the least”. The airport’s staff hit back saying “That’s enough about Everton”.
Other new options for the airport include “a new Arthur Guinness Bar, and a new large Italian restaurant – serving up delicious freshly made pizzas, pasta as well as gelato, crepes and waffles,” in T1.
Pret A Manger, a revamped Nomad, Street Kitchen and Cantina will also be opening in T1
Passengers in T2 can look forward to the new Fitzgerald’s Restaurant and Bar which replaces The Oak, Roasted Notes Speciality Coffee and an expanded Butlers.
