Supermarket giant ‘can’t wait’ to open new store in Kilkenny
Over the next five years, supermarket giant Aldi plan to invest a further €400 million in 30 new stores, including in the new one planned for Castlecomer in County Kilkenny.
The company currently operates five stores in Kilkenny, and employs 80 people.
“We look forward to opening our new €6.3 million store in Castlecomer in 2025, one of a number of stores which are already in development around the country,” an Aldi spokesperson told Kilkenny Live.
“We will be announcing the locations of the additional stores we plan to open across the country in due course.
“We are committed to bringing market leading value and quality to customers at locations most convenient to them, such as Castlecomer.
“Every new Aldi store brings greater choice, quality and value to shoppers, while creating well-paid jobs in the community. We can’t wait to open our doors and bring all these benefits to the people of Castlecomer next year.”
Additionally, despite easing inflation, Aldi will continue to implement its price cuts programme this year to support customers as we all emerge from an acute inflationary period and has invested €20m already this year in over 400 price cuts, with further investment planned for the rest of 2024.
This pledge to further growth, development, and investment in Ireland, demonstrates ALDI’s unwavering commitment to the market that has supported them for a quarter of a century.
