talkSPORT betting tips – Wimbledon day three tennis accumulator tips

Day three of Wimbledon features several second round matches including action from the top half of the men’s singles and the bottom half of the women’s draw.

There are some big matches including the all-Italian clash between men’s top seed Jannik Sinner and former finalist Matteo Berrettini.

But the British fans will be cheering on Emma Raducanu, who continues her women’s singles challenge against Dutch opponent Elise Mertens.

Sinner can win see off tough opponent

Jannik Sinner will have huge respect for compatriot Matteo Berrettini, who became the first Italian to compete in the men’s Wimbledon final when going down 7-6 4-6 4-6 3-6 to Novak Djokovic in 2021.

But Sinner was a 6-4 6-3 winner over Berrettini in their only previous meeting – a round of 32 clash at last year’s Canada Masters – and should have the edge in their Wimbledon second round clash.

Berrettini showed signs of a return to form by finishing runner-up to Jack Draper at Stuttgart last month, but he has his work cut out against 2024 Australian Open champion Sinner, who has reached the semi-finals or better at three of the last four Grand Slams.

Humbert can deliver against big-serving Dutchman

Ugo Humbert reached the Wimbledon fourth round in 2019 and he looks a solid 3/10 favourite to defeat out-of-sorts Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp.

Humbert has had a strong opening half to the year, claiming titles in Marseille and Dubai, and he should come up with the answers against van de Zandschulp, who had suffered back-to-back first round losses before his four-set success over Wimbledon wildcard Liam Broady.

Nakashima ready to realise his potential

Brandon Nakashima had some tough times last year – dropping out of the top 150 at one stage – but he is on the way back in 2024 and can reach the Wimbledon third round for the second time by defeating Australian journeyman Jordan Thompson.

There is still plenty of time for 22-year-old Nakashima to realise his immense potential.

He reached the semi-finals in recent grass court events in Surbiton and Stuttgart and should be tuned up sufficiently to cope with Thompson, who has not gone beyond the second round in his last 11 Grand Slam appearances.

Veteran Spaniard can roll back the years

Roberto Bautista Agut has a strong game for grass – he was a Wimbledon semi-finalist in 2019 – and he can get the better of Italian Lorenzo Sonego in their second round clash.

Bautista Agut turned 36 in April but he reached the quarter-finals in the warm up event in Mallorca and looks better suited to the faster courts than Sonego, who has experienced three first-round exits on his six visits to Wimbledon.

Rely on Raducanu to advance

Emma Raducanu caught the eye with her run to the quarter-finals at Eastbourne and she looks a solid favourite to see off Elise Mertens on Centre Court.

The 21-year-old Briton is arguably playing her best tennis since her stunning US Open success in 2021 and can cope with Mertens, who was knocked out by wildcard Elina Svitolina in last year’s Wimbledon second round.

Paolini progress can continue

Jasmine Paolini had never won a main draw match at Wimbledon before this year but she is a player transformed over the last 12 months and can advance to the third round by defeating Dutch opponent Greet Minnen.

The Italian reached this year’s French Open final, losing out to Iga Swiatek, and should have too much for Minnen, who has never gone beyond the second round at SW19.
