talkSPORT betting tips – Wimbledon Tuesday tennis accumulator tips

The identity of the first two men’s semi-finalists should be known by the time play concludes at Wimbledon on Tuesday.

Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz and world number one Jannik Sinner are the odds-on favourites to fill those berths, but Tommy Paul and Daniil Medvedev will have other ideas.

Two of the final four in the women’s draw will also become clear as Lulu Sun attempts to make it through as a qualifier after ending Britain’s last hopes in the singles with her win over Emma Raducanu on Sunday.

Wimbledon Tennis Tips

  • Lulu Sun to beat Donna Vekic @ 11/5
  • Emma Navarro to beat Jasmine Paolini @ 8/15
  • Under 9.5 Total Games – 1st Set in Jannik Sinner v Daniil Medvedev @ 5/4
  • Accumulator pays almost 10/1 if successful.

Lulu has a great shout

Lulu Sun put Raducanu in the shade on Centre Court with a combination of power hitting and aggression to get the job done 6-2 5-7 6-2.

She wobbled a little in the second set, but otherwise it was a pretty comfortable win for the qualifier.

Sun has never previously been beyond the first round at a Grand Slam event, but is now threatening to make the semi-finals with only world number 37 Donna Vekic standing in her way.

The Croatian has faced only one top-50 player to reach the last eight and was thoroughly tested by Paulo Badosa in her fourth-round match.

Vekic is a solid grass courter, but her serve has not been functioning as well as she would like at Wimbledon so far.

The 28-year-old is likely to be stuck on the back foot if Sun repeats her tactics from the Raducanu match, where she came to the net four times as often as her opponent and won 23 of the 28 points there.

The New Zealander has blossomed under the tutelage of experienced Slovakian coach Vlademir Platenik and can upset the odds again on Tuesday.

Navarro knows how to beat Paolini

Emma Navarro’s stunning 6-4 6-3 upset victory over world number two 2 Coco Gauff in the fourth round has made a lot of people sit up and take notice.

Set alongside her second-round triumph over Naomi Osaka, it demonstrates the American’s ability to perform at the highest level against top-ranked opponents.

Jasmine Paolini, despite reaching her career-high ranking of number seven after a strong French Open performance, has shown vulnerability on serve during this tournament.

The Italian has won less than 47% of points on her second serve and was broken six times in her match against Madison Keys, which was going the American’s way until she retired at 5-5 in the final set.

The head-to-head record strongly favours Navarro, who has won all three of their previous encounters.

She broke her opponent’s serve a total of seven times in their most recent meeting and blew Paolini away 6-0 in the decider.

Given Navarro’s recent form, her head-to-head advantage, and her ability to exploit Paolini’s serving weaknesses, she appears well-positioned to advance to her first Grand Slam semi-final.

Rematch of Melbourne classic could be just as close

When Jannik Sinner met Daniil Medvedev in Miami this spring, the Italian was able to close it out quickly 6-1 6-2.

But matches between these two rivals are usually very close even though Sinner has won the last five, including in the Australian Open final earlier this year.

Medvedev moved his opponent all over the court to open up a two-set lead in Melbourne, but Sinner turned it around to win his first Grand Slam title in a classic.

The number five seed admits he will try a new tactic this time and is relishing the opportunity to face Sinner on grass for the first time.

Both men reached the Wimbledon semi-finals last year and have very similar win percentages on grass of around 70 percent.

One thing is clear from their previous meetings, the sets rarely take longer than an hour to complete with only four of the last 15 played going to tie-breaks and three of the last 10 lasting longer than nine games.

The average first-set length between these players is 9.6 games, but the first set has lasted less than 10 games in the majority of their 11 matches to date, which suggests there is value in taking the odds against about Tuesday’s first set being under 9.5 games.
