Taylor Swift claims top five spots on Irish charts

Following her record-breaking trio of gigs at the Aviva Stadium last weekend Taylor Swift has now claimed the top five spots on the Irish album charts.

As well as dominating the five top spots, the I Can Do It With A Broken Heart singer charted six albums in the Top 10, eight in the Top 20, 11 in the Top 30 and 14 in the Top 100.

Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poet’s Department, was her – record-breaking – eleventh No 1 album in Ireland upon release. She now holds the most No 1 studio albums by any artist in Irish chart history.

Over on Spotify Swift has been on the Top Artists Ireland list for the longest period ever, at 988 days straight.

Last weekend over 150,000 overjoyed fans filled the Aviva Stadium for three sold-out concerts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. She is the first artist to play three sold-out gigs at the stadium.

The Dublin shows featured elaborate production, multiple costume changes and a setlist that spanned over three hours and included almost 50 songs.

Swift is currently in Amsterdam where she is playing three sold-out shows at the Johan Cruyff Arena, running from Thursday to Saturday.

Swift will then play dates in Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland and Austria before returning to the UK in August for five nights at Wembley Stadium in London.
