Taylor Swift wears Irish design on Eras Tour

Taylor Swift’s on tour wardrobe already lists an impressive amount of designer names, from Vivienne Westwood and Versace, to Roberto Cavalli and Zuhair Murad.

And, it turns out, one very specific Irish designer.

In between sequinned leotards and shimmering dresses, Swift has been wearing gloves by Paula Rowan, an Irish glove maker based in Dublin whose designs have already been worn by Beyonce, Dua Lipa, Blake Lively and our own Nicola Coughlan.

The designs, which are all handmade in Italy, span from understated and elegant classic designs, to bold and expressive styles, all in a variety of colours and textures. It’s no wonder that they’ve become a favourite of celebrity stylists across the world.

Swift wore Rowan’s AIDA style in white on the Liverpool stops of the Eras Tour, a style that features triple darts and individually hand-stitched panels of leather, as part of The Tortured Poets Department section of the show.

The star started the section in a voluminous corseted Vivienne Westwood gown that has already been copied by countless Swifties while at the show. The design is made from white taffeta and emblazoned with lyrics from her latest single, Fortnight.

She then changes into a silver and white twill tailcoat and matching sparkling bustier and high-waisted briefs, matching perfectly with the white gloves.

Speaking about Swift donning the gloves, Rowan said: “Taylor Swift is known for her strength and confidence as well as her ability to constantly transform and evolve. For all of those reasons, I am delighted that she chose my gloves to wear.

“Swift’s style has evolved over her career and she uses both her lyrics and her outfits to communicate and to craft a story so I am honoured to be a part of that narrative.”

Will Taylor don them again for this weekend’s shows in Dublin? Only time with tell.
