Tennis, WTA – Wimbledon 2024: Krejcikova upends Ostapenko

No 31 seed Barbora Krejcikova won against Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 13 seed, 6-4, 7-6 (4) to reach the last four of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Londres on Wednesday.

Krejcikova, ranked No 32, will play Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 4 seed, next.

Barbora Krejcikova defeated Russian Veronika Kudermetova (7-6 (4), 6-7 (1), 7-5), American qualifier Katie Volynets (7-6 (6), 7-6 (5)), Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (6-0, 4-3 ret.) and American Danielle Collins, the No 11 seed (7-5, 6-3) in the previous rounds of The Championships.

Earlier in the tournament, Ostapenko, ranked No 14, beat Australian wildcard Ajla Tomljanovic (6-1, 6-2), Ukrainian qualifier Daria Snigur (6-3, 6-0), American Bernarda Pera (6-1, 6-3) and Kazakh Yulia Putintseva (6-2, 6-3).
