Tennis, WTA – Wimbledon 2024: Paolini defeats Navarro

Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 7 seed, advanced to the semi-finals of Wimbledon by defeating American Emma Navarro, the No 19 seed, 6-2, 6-1 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Londres on Tuesday evening.

Paolini, ranked No 7, will face Croat Donna Vekic next.

Ahead of her victory, the Italian won against Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo (7-5, 6-3), Belgian Greet Minnen (7-6 (5), 6-2), Canadian Bianca Andreescu (7-6 (4), 6-1) and American Madison Keys, the No 12 seed (6-3, 6-7 (6), 5-5 ret.).

Navarro, ranked No 17, beat Chinese Qiang Wang (6-0, 6-2), Japanese wildcard Naomi Osaka (6-4, 6-1), Russian Diana Shnaider (2-6, 6-3, 6-4) and second seed Coco Gauff (6-4, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
