This Morning’s Josie Gibson grits out apology after awkward Ben Shephard snub
TV star Josie Gibson had surfaced from Dortmund, Germany baring gifts for her This Morning colleagues, when things turned awkward between her Ben Shephard on-air
Josie Gibson appeared to snub co-star Ben Shephard live on-air while distributing gifts.
The Bristolian-native had been filming in Dortmund, Germany, for This Morning on yesterday’s (July 10) show. She’d been sent across the waters on work duties ahead of the nail-biting semi final between England and the Netherlands – with Garath Southgate’s team pipping the win in the final minutes after Ollie Watkins triumphed with an incredible goal.
Returning to the ITV studio today, (July 11), Josie was full of excitement and came baring gifts for hosts Ben and Cat Deeley, however things turned a bit awkward when she began to distribute presents but seamed to snub the Tipping Point host.
Handing over the items that she’d sourced on her travels, she gave them both a bottle of beer, along with a box of chocolates but Ben’s sweet treat had been tampered with. As he fiddled with the box that had already been opened and appeared half empty, he asked: “Have you nibbled my chocolates?”
Josie confessed: “What happened was i’m a midnight fridge attacker, fridge snacker and i’ve ate half of yours. Sorry about that”
She added: “But I’ve got you to make up for it…. but it did melt because it was really hot in Dortmund…. so I’ve got you a little poodle-doodle and some half eaten chocolates.”
“That looks so appealing,” smirked presenter Cat. The I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here star then proceeded to hand the former SMTV Live star a fresh box, telling her: “Don’t worry Cat, I didn’t eat yours.”
Whipping out further delicious and fully wrapped edible gifts, she gifted Cat more untouched presents while tapping the shoulder of the ex GMB star. Telling him: “Sorry Ben.”
Over Cat’s delighted cheers, an unhappy, Ben shot back: “So I got a manky poodle-doodle and some half eaten chocolates?” Rubbing the salt in the wounds Cat chirped in: “It’s a bit melty but it’ll taste good.”
Meanwhile, Josie announced that she has bagged herself a new presenting role away from the ITV daytime favourite. The popular TV star has been signed up to host Magic Radio this August.
She will be responsible for hosting the BBQ Playlist segment on Saturday’s from 1-2pm (via On The Radio). McFly’s Harry Judd is also signed up to take over from Josie when her time on Magic ends on July 6.
This Morning airs on ITV, weekdays from 10am.
