Thousands attended today’s Limerick Pride parade which made its way through Limerick city this afternoon.

The Pride festival this year celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first Pride march in Ireland.

Under the theme “I Am What I Am,” the weeklong Limerick festival has been featuring a diverse line-up of workshops, support meetings, music, and nights out, catering to the needs of everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community.

The spirits of those attend were not dampened however, as What started out a beautiful afternoon quickly became a damp and wet afternoon in the city.

The day was brightened thanks to a sea of colour as participants representing groups from all across the city and county celebrated this important day in the LGBTQI + community.

Many of Limerick’s major employers joined their staff as the parade made its way from Merchants Quay.

Representatives from the likes of Northern Trust, Johnston and Johnston and Regeneron play a key part in the days events.

The parade travelled along Patrick Street and O’Connell Street where businesses in the city showed their support.

The parade then made its way down Henry Street to Arthurs Quay before finishing at the Hunt Museum, where the Pride Fest Party will take place from 3pm to 6pm. This is a free family-friendly event with cone van, a cafe and bar on site, free face painting, live music, performances, drag, and plenty of entertainment including the Annual tea Dance with Myles Breen followed by DJ Ruth from the George Dublin. Hosted by Paul Ryder and Eddie Mc Guinness.

The Limerick Pride Climax Party Ft.
