Three Boston teenage girls arrested for assault with pepper spray

Three teenage girls were arrested in Boston after they reportedly attacked and sprayed a girl with pepper spray.

Boston Police responded to reports of an assault outside Boston’s famous Prudential Center. The victim of the alleged attack said that they had been kicked and punched by three teenage girls. They had also been sprayed with pepper spray and their cell phone had been stolen.




According to their official report, officers searched the area and found the group of girls at 171 Saint Botolph Street. They wrote that they “observed one of the juveniles attempting to discard a purple can of OC spray under a motor vehicle.”

They discovered that the three girls were aged 13, 14 and 16. All three are facing serious charges. The 13-year-old and 16-year-old suspects face juvenile charges of armed robbery and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon. The 14-year-old suspect faces juvenile charges of receiving stolen property and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.

According to state law, pepper spray can be carried by the citizens of Massachusetts for the purpose of personal protection and self-defense. However, it is a crime to use pepper spray in the commission or perpetration of a crime.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. All three teens are expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
