There are gaps in service due to a failed Metro train on the Yellow Line affecting stations from South Gosforth towards South Shields, in both directions.
Tyne and Wear Metro said:
“We are working to resolve the issue and will resume timetable as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”

There is one lane closed on the A1 Western Bypass Northbound from J73 A694 Derwenthaugh Road (Blaydon / Consett Turn Off, Swalwell) to J74 (Newcastle City / Newburn Turn Off, Scotswood).
This is due to a broken down vehicle.
Traffic is coping well.
