Delays on the A19 towards the Tyne Tunnel

Traffic is building on the A19 Northbound heading towards the Tyne Tunnel in South Tyneside.

Travel times heading towards the Tyne Bridge

Here are the current travel times on the approaches to the Tyne Bridge:

  • A167 Gateshead Highway (Northbound) – Whitehall Road to Tyne Bridge (South) – 1 minutes 50 seconds
  • A184/A167 (Westbound) – Gateshead Stadium to A167 Tyne Bridge (South) – 4 minutes 5 seconds

  • A167(M) Central Motorway East (Southbound) – Cowgate to Tyne Bridge (South) – 4 minutes 44 seconds

  • A167(M) Central Motorway East (Southbound) – A193 New Bridge Street to Tyne Bridge (South) – 1 minutes 32 seconds

Update on the Tyne and Wear Metro

Tyne and Wear Mentro confirm that trains are running to all destinations; however, there are gaps in service on the yellow and green lines.
