Daily horse racing tips

  • Beverley
    2.30: Lady Luzon 15/2 Each-way (1pt) & Coto De Caza, Timescape Combination Trifecta (0.5pt)
  • Kempton
    7.30: True Promise 33/1 Each-way (1pt)

Lady Luzon & Trifecta

Coto De Caza is the big favourite here after a very promising debut when a neck third at Lingfield, on the turf late last month.

1st and 2nd in that race are both rated in the 80’s having already had the benefit of a couple races experience so there should be plenty of improvement from this two-year-old filly.

However, Lady Luzon is a great price each-way considering her form last time out has worked out really well.

She placed just a length behind the colt Mr Lightside who went on to win again at Nottingham comfortably, to now be rated 93.

Lady Luzon was fourth behind the impressive Maw Lam on debut over 5f and didn’t seem to suit the step up to 6f but still placed second and has that consistency for a shot at improvement on a workable mark.

It also makes sense to cover the eventuality of the favourite proving herself on her second outing and could get hammered in the odds even further.

Timescape also looks like a dangerous debutant and is firmly sticking around 3/1 and shorter despite coming up against this favourite, and the trainer Karl Burke often does well with these kinds of races so a trifecta could pay out nicely.

True Promise

I wouldn’t want to rule out this 33/1 shot for the sake of his last two runs, both of which have come on the turf whereas his first two runs and wins have been on the all-weather.

He returns to the artificial surfaces again today and has been nudged down the weights which might give him a chance.

Shane Gray is on board and has an encouraging 29% strike-rate coming into today’s meeting and the horse is back at at 6f too dropping down from the 7f he’s been seen at for the last three.
