Daily horse racing tips

  • SOUTHWELL
    2.45: The Wolf 7/1 Each-way (1pt)
  • LEICESTER
    4.03: Educate 6/1 Each-way (1.5pts)
  • COURSE
    7.45: Queen’s Guard 3/1 (1pt)

The Wolf

Very much worth siding with The Wolf here despite the lack of wins to his name and couple of concerning numbers on his form that read 553P5-.

He’s a ten-year-old trained by Olly Murphy who has so often showed that he’s capable of a good run.

Despite only winning twice over fences he’s long retained a decent overall rating which shows just how unfortunate he can be.

He’s well experienced over this kind of distance and that run behind Arizona Cardinal at Leicester in January has obviously worked out well since.

He’s only been in two hunter chases since then and due to pulling up and finishing last on his latest outing has been dropped a massive 10lb.

That opens things up for him to improve greatly if just for a place finish.

He had wind surgery back in November and that clearly took a run to take effect, while the hunters chases are a completely different demand to handicap chases, so he should be well-in here and is too likeable not to side with.

Educate

Educate carried 7lb more than Palace Green at Kempton in April and still managed to place second ahead of Musical Dancer and Ghostlore.

He then reappeared later that month to go up to 1m4f for the first time on his third career start, also carrying the top-weight, and managed to grab a close third miles ahead of the other two in behind.

He carried between 6lb-12lb more than his rivals but still was just a length away.

That form has been more than boosted too as Fouroneohfever has gone on to win twice since, beating The Hun and Contacto at Chester.

The John & Thady Gosden-trained colt has the form on paper and that should translate to a nice 3/1 winner on the day.

Queen’s Guard

Two close calls on the all-weather so far this season over 5f but she’s back over 6f here in which she’s already run over and should go well off a decent mark.

She placed just a neck behind Dyrholaey in a novice event at Newcastle in April and the pair finished well ahead of the rest and only separated by a neck.

She then bumped into a progressive type next time out and there’s clear signs of improvement to come back up to 6f on her third run on the all-weather.
