USA Olympics basketball stars greeted by guard of honor in Abu Dhabi

Team USA Basketball was given a heroes welcome as they arrived in Abu Dhabi ahead of an exhibition game they’re set to play.

The team was greeted at their hotel by a group of performers who put on a traditional Emirati Ayyala dance.

Players like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant were all seen taking in the ceremonial welcome.

Curry was particularly surprised that there was a live falcon greeting them at the hotel.

The Golden State Warriors star even got the chance to hold the bird, which is a national symbol.

Team USA is coming off a comeback victory over Canada after they erased an early double-digit deficit to their rivals from the north.

Anthony Edwards led all scorers off the bench with 13 points and three rebounds while Curry dropped 12 points and Jrue Holiday put up 11 points.

Anthony Davis also had a strong game, coming off the bench and putting up a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds on the night.

Team USA will play two games in Abu Dhabi – one against Australia and one against Olympic group mates Serbia.

Three days after that second friendly, they’ll play another one of their group mates in South Sudan in an exhibition in London – followed by an exhibition against Germany in the England capital just before the start of the Olympics.

From there, Team USA will play all three of its group stage games in Lille – first against Serbia, then against South Sudan before wrapping things up against Puerto Rico.
