VEI Global to add 20 engineering jobs with €2m investment

Managed IT services group VEI Global have announced 20 software and network engineering jobs as part of a €2m investment funded by the company and Enterprise Ireland.

VEI provides end-to-end connectivity solutions using automation, Internet of Things (IoT) and AI, and said it was supporting foreign direct investment in Ireland by helping US customers to use Ireland as a gateway to Europe.

The group, which provides services to South Dublin County Council, BT, Vodafone, the European Parliament and Computacenter, has seen strong customer growth in the US and Europe and average year-on-year revenue growth of 22% with rising requirements for multi-site connectivity.

The company has also capitalised on the rapid digital transformation of sectors such as education, manufacturing, residential property, construction and retail.

Founded in 2010 by co-CEOs Lloyd O’Rourke and Conor Killeen, VEI Global currently employs a team of 40 as part of a network of over 1,000 engineers across its markets.

The new hires will be responsible for network solution design, building customer solutions from the ground up, and configuration and support of their networks.

“Piecemeal connectivity solutions are no longer working for multi-site, multinational organisations. They require seamless and streamlined Wi-Fi solutions that will ensure they are maximising the benefits of the technologies that they are adopting,” said O’Rourke.

“Additionally, organisations must ensure that they are not exposing themselves to increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity attacks, which can thrive on unsophisticated Wi-Fi networks.”

Killeen added that VEI had been “at the forefront of responding to these needs and the expansion of our team will ensure we maintain our position as a global leader in the network connectivity space.

“By providing organisations with turnkey solutions that can transform the performance of their business, we anticipate continued business growth at home and internationally.”
