It was reported that Mr Machnowski had been living and working in the south Longford town for 16 years, and the vast bulk of that time was spent as an employee with local timber manufacturing outlet, Ronaynes Wood Products.
Speaking to the Irish Independent, its managing director Jarlath Ronayne said Mr Machnowski’s death had come as a considerable shock, describing the man as a “highly though of and hard worker” who had spent the past 16 years with the Creevaghbeg-based outfit.
