Vidic gives verdict on Ratcliffe amid Ten Hag decision at Man United

Nemanja Vidic has thrown his support behind Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, admitting that he has liked his approach thus far.

Securing a minority stake in February, Ratcliffe is now looking ahead to his first transfer window in charge of football operations. The window opens on Friday and a hive of transfer activity is expected to take place in the coming weeks and months.




United will prepare for the 2024/25 season with Erik ten Hag at the helm. Club sources confirmed on Tuesday evening that Ineos had reached a decision to retain the Dutchman and that talks over a new contract are now underway.

Ratcliffe’s decision to stick with Ten Hag means the Dutchman will now work within an elite-level sporting structure, with the Ineos chief making key additions to the boardroom in recent months. Omar Berrada has been installed as chief executive, Jason Wilcox has taken over as technical director and Dan Ashworth remains in the frame to become United’s inaugural sporting director.

And for Vidic, he is encouraged by the start Ratcliffe has made at Old Trafford, praising him for the off-field decisions he has made so far.

“I like the approach of Sir Jim Ratcliffe,” Vidic told Sky Sports. “Obviously he is going slowly and isn’t just making decisions with a gut feeling.
