Virginia Tech men’s basketball coach Mike Jones has landed his first recruit in the high school graduating class of 2025.
Sin’Cere Jones, a rising senior at Churchland High School in Portsmouth, announced his commitment to the Hokies on Instagram on Sunday.
Jones, a 6-foot-7, 195-pound forward, is rated the No. 13 rising senior in the commonwealth by the 247 Sports recruiting website.
That website also ranks Jones as the No. 43 power forward in the nation among rising seniors.
Jones made the VHSL Class 4 all-state first team as a junior this year. He made the second team as a sophomore in 2023.
He visited Virginia Tech last week.
Jones has also received offers from Mississippi State, Virginia Commonwealth, Radford, Old Dominion, Hampton, Norfolk State, Duquesne, Manhattan and Jacksonville, according to his Twitter account.
