Warning for Revolut and Google users as services see outages across Ireland

Update: A Revolut spokesperson has confirmed that the issue has been resolved. Google News also appears to be fully functional once more.

Revolut users across Ireland were experiencing problems with the app this morning as millions of Google users worldwide grappled with a sudden service outage.

Shortly after 2 pm this afternoon, reports for the use of Revolut spiked on the website downdetector.ie. At the time of writing more than 500 reports have been filed with problems transferring funds cited as the most prominent issue.

Some users reported that they could not access online banking while others found themselves unable to access their accounts at all.

The problems with the payment service came alongside a mysterious outage from Google as millions of users worldwide have lost access to the Google News feature.
