Waterford Council CEO Michael Walsh bids farewell | WLRFM.com
Current CEO of Waterford City and County Council, Michael Walsh is due to step down from his role in the coming days after over a decade serving the city and county.
Mr. Walsh took up the role in 2014, amid difficult economic conditions, and a city with one of the highest unemployment rates nationally.
Since he took office, Mr. Walsh has been at the forefront of the delivery of several projects, including the Waterford Greenway and the Viking Triangle as well as the ongoing North Quays Development.
Mr. Walsh attended one of his last official functions yesterday at the Irish Museum of Time, for the announcement of the expansion of the facility into the adjacent Central Arts Hall.
He became emotional, as several officials of Waterford Treasures bid him farewell in his retirement, as he was presented with a pocket watch from several members of the Irish Museum of Time which can be viewed below.
