Westboro boys tennis beats Wayland in state semifinals

SHREWSBURY, Mass. – The Westboro boys tennis team beat Wayland 4-1 on Monday in the boys Division 2 state semifinal matches played at St. John’s High School.

The Rangers #1 singles player, Kaden Chen, beat Wayland’s Toby Kylberger 6-0 and 6-2 in #2 singles.

Westboro’s Srinjoy Ghosh defeated Wayland’s Jeffrey Zhang 6-3 and 6-1 in #3 singles.

Wayland’s Brendan Ip topped Westboro’s Jordan Hlawek 7-6 (7-1) and 6-0 in #1 doubles.

Westboro’s team of Brendan Estaphan and Eehab Khan outlasted Wayland’s Henrique Aberasis and Josh Proctor 7-5 and 7-5 in #2 doubles.

And Westboro’s Michael Ku and Tyler Lattanzio beat Wayland’s Kailas Srinivasan and Arya Nagalla 6-4 and 6-1.

Westboro faces Duxbury in the state final at a time and place to be determined.
