Wexford Football League: Sinnott’s late winner secures Division 1 title for New Ross Celtic
New Ross Celtic clinched the Division 1 crown in dramatic fashion on Tuesday of last week as an Adam Sinnott goal deep into injury-time earned them a 1-0 win over Rosslare Rangers in Campile.
It looked like the Barrowsiders were going to have to keep the champagne on ice, but they finally made the breakthrough in the 95th minute when substitute Luke Sinnott did well to get to the byline and send in a low cross, that was finished to the net by his brother Adam to kick-start the celebrations.
Having won both Division 2 and the Neil O’Sullivan Cup last term, they repeated the trick, albeit this time in a higher division, and they will have further success in their sights as they make a welcome return to the top table of Wexford football.
