A new set of strangers gather to participate in a game of detection, backstabbing and trust, in the hope of winning a cash jackpot.

Three of the contestants – called the traitors – will devise a plan to steal the prize from the other contestants, who are called the faithful.

The faithful are unaware of who the traitors are.

The show is hosted by Alan Cumming.

Just a note on the broadcast: there’s a double episode on BBC Three from 7pm, repeated later on BBC One.

Drama series inspired by the true story of the Dutch couple who risked their lives to hide Anne Frank and her family, and other persecuted Jews, during the Second World War.

Miep Gies (Bel Powley) works as a secretary to Otto Frank (Liev Schreiber) in Amsterdam as the city comes under Nazi occupation.

Otto fears for the safety of his loved ones and decides to hide in the secret annexe of his business premises along with members of the van Pels and Pfeffer families.

Miep, her husband Jan (Joe Cole) and other brave souls agree to watch over the fugitives and keep them safe from the Nazis for the next two years.

The pair discuss what has made the series such an enduring hit for audiences.

The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan, 9.00pm, BBC Two

Romesh (below) travels to Madagascar and embarks on a mission, guided by exuberant diving instructor Bic, to find out what the island has to offer the uninitiated – apart from cartoon dancing lemurs.

In the chaotic capital of Antananarivo, Bic samples a popular soup made from an eye-watering delicacy and Rom discovers that local taxi drivers have an intoxicating way of economising on fuel.

Inside No 9, 10.00pm, BBC Two

This is the last-ever episode of the award-winning anthology of films, written by and starring Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith.

European Athletics Championships, 8.00pm, RTÉ2

Streaming on RTÉ Player

Live coverage of the sixth and concluding day’s action from Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Medals are awarded in the men’s pole vault and javelin and the women’s long jump, which all started earlier in the evening.

Plus the women’s 4x400m at 8.06, 800m at 8.31 and 4x100m relay at 9.38, and the men’s 4x400m relay at 8.19, 10,000m at 8.44, 1500m at 9.26 and 4x100m relay at 9.50.
