Where does the Detroit Lions’ roster rank in the NFL?
It has been a while now since the Detroit Lions have turned the proverbial corner in the NFL, yet I sometimes still find myself needing a pinch on the arm. You know, just to make sure this is all still real life.
A few weeks ago, Pro Football Focus ranked their best rosters in the league from 1 to 32, listing the Lions as the sixth. And while I personally believe that to be a bit low, it is still fun to contemplate how far this organization has come since general manager Brad Holmes and coach Dan Campbell have come since arriving in Detroit back in 2021.
Top-to-bottom, this team is not only built to win in 2024, but they appear ready to seriously compete for the foreseeable future—something Holmes and Campbell have consistently reiterated about their plans for the franchise.
PFF’s Sam Monson and Steve Palazzolo broke down the Lions’ roster further on the PFF YouTube page, and each believed that Detroit has a legitimate argument for being considered the league’s best roster.
Piggybacking off the conversation, my guy Meko Scott and I discussed where we believe the Lions sit ahead of the 2024 season, and how we think the top-five teams should be ranked in our minds. It made for a really fun conversation and an interesting exercise where we only focused on the current roster-makeup of each franchise.
As always, please be sure to like and subscribe over at the Pride of Detroit YouTube Channel. It truly means a lot to us and helps the channel grow as we inch closer to training camp.
