White & Case advises Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners on acquisition of majority stake in UltraEdge | White & Case LLP

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, a private infrastructure investment platform within Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), on an exclusivity agreement to partner with Altice France to establish the first nationwide independent colocation provider in France through the acquisition of a 70 percent majority stake in UltraEdge, a newly established data center company.

UltraEdge will hold a portfolio of 257 data centers interconnected via Altice’s mobile operator subsidiary SFR’s countrywide fiber network, which will be carved out through a demerger of SFR’s data center operations, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.

The transaction, which values UltraEdge at €764 million, is part of an exclusive partnership agreement between MSIM and Altice France to establish the first nationwide independent distributed datacenter operator in France. UltraEdge will provide essential data storage and connectivity services benefiting from an installed capacity of more than 45MW and 33,047 square meters of owned office space, interconnected via SFR’s nationwide fiber network.

The White & Case team which advised on the transaction was led by partners George Kazakov (London) and Xavier Petet (Paris) and included partners James Johnson, Martin Forbes, Anneka Randhawa (all London), Amaury de Feydeau, Saam Golshani, Franck Peter, Estelle Philippi, Jérémie Marthan, Orion Berg, Alexandre Jaurett, Clara Hainsdorf (all Paris) and Thomas Burmeister (Düsseldorf), counsel Henri Bousseau (Paris) and associates Joe Barnes, Man Hay Yip (both London), Valentin Morichon, Clément Cenreaud, Tsveta Pencheva, Jessy Laberty, Claire Sardet, Antoine Rueda (all Paris) and Joe Paisley (London).
