White & Case advises on divestment of three social infrastructure PPP projects in Australia | White & Case LLP
Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Aberdeen Global Infrastructure Partners Fund II (abrdn) and Macquarie Capital’s Infrastructure and Energy Capital division (Macquarie Capital) on the legal aspects of the disposal of interests in Western Australian Schools PPP and ACT Law Courts PPP, and advised abrdn on the legal aspects of the disposal of its interest in Perth Stadium, in each case to MM Capital Infrastructure Fund II, L.P..
“The transactions were complex as they involved three separate assets, each with a unique ownership structure, and their own terms and conditions,” said White & Case partner Stephen Carlton, who led the Firm’s deal team. “The successful divestments show Australia’s public private partnership assets are attractive to international investors.”
The portfolio of assets comprises facility management of Perth Stadium, a 60,000-seat, multi-use outdoor stadium and its adjacent sports precinct for a 25-year term; estate and facility management services for Western Australian Schools, a collection of four primary and four secondary institutions in Perth; and facilities management and support services for the ACT Law Courts, supporting the integrated courts facility over a 25-year period.
The White & Case team which advised on the transactions was led by partners Stephen Carlton, Candice Ota and Alan Rosengarten (all Melbourne), with support from associates Suzie Porritt, Matt Sercombe, Nicolette Tan and SuZanne Yap, Charlie Barker, Crystal Nguyen, Katerina Psathas (all Melbourne), Megan Irons (Sydney), Nana Kwon (Seoul), Darcy Lubich (Dubai), Shruti Sudarsan and Edward Lee (both Singapore).
