Why Alcaraz and Murray have faith in Jack Draper – Tennis Tonic – News, Predictions, H2H, Live Scores, stats
Jack Draper has stated that leading the British rankings is just an initial step to greater success in the future.
The Boss Open was the first ATP Tour event that the new world No. 31 won on Sunday, and he will now be seeded at Wimbledon. Since Andy Murray in 2009, Draper has been the youngest British male in the top ranking.
Murray expressed his remarks about Draper in a recent interview and said: “I think he has bigger goals to aspire to than being in the British No. 1. In my opinion, he can get up to the top of the game, to the top of the world rankings.”
Alcaraz said: “I think he’s going to reach wherever he wants.”
Without having time to enjoy his two victories, Draper took off for London to be ready for his first-round match at the Cinch Championships today against Argentine Mariano Navone.
Draper expressed his thoughts about it and said: “Tennis is a relentless sport. I will reflect on it at some point, but for now, it’s just full focus on being here and hopefully doing well. It’s amazing to hear that from someone like Andy or Carlos. Being the No. 1 Brit, it’s a huge honour and a huge privilege, I know, but I hadn’t thought about that at all. My goal is to honestly be one of the top players in the world. That’s sort of been what I have wanted.”
