MADISON — The Aquinas High School boys tennis team was unable to match up with Brookfield Academy in the WIAA Division 2 state team tennis championship semifinals at Nielsen Stadium in Madison on Saturday.
The Blugolds fell to the Blue Knights 7-0, losing each match in two sets to the eventual state champions.
Junior Anderson Fortney fell to Division 2 singles champion Adrian Yin in the most competitive match of the day at No. 1 singles. Fortney lost 6-4, 6-4.
Brookfield Academy junior Rohan Singh defeated junior Mitchell Fortney in No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-3 in another competitive match.
Sophomore Tegan Schott lost in No. 3 singles to Krish Sharma (6-0, 6-1) and freshman Gabriel Rivera fell in No. 4 singles against Sanjay Dagam (6-0, 6-2).
In No. 1 doubles, Vibhu Guda and Peyton Zeiler defeated Aquinas senior Sam Dickinson and junior Patrick Gundersen 6-3, 6-1.

Senior Ryan Langen and sophomore Jaedan Silcox fell in No. 2 doubles in two sets, losing to Sanjit Madireddi and Zach Weiner 6-2, 6-2.
Armaan Bhasin and Eddie Schoyer completed the sweep for Brookfield Academy, winning the No. 3 doubles match 6-0, 6-1 versus Aquinas seniors Joel Capelli and Lucas Forman.
