Will Ferrell gives Galway YouTuber cold shoulder after odd star request
A social media influencer has shared the awkward moment he seemed to have been ignored by hit actor Will Ferrell after asking him to subscribe to his YouTube channel.
Tiktok user Oisin McDonagh posted the clip among a selection of videos of him asking strangers on Quay Street to subscribe to his channel as he handed out fliers, presumably with his social media info on them.
After asking one group outside Tigh Neachtain’s they tell him to go down the street slightly to the pub’s outdoor seating area because the Stepbrothers and Anchorman legend is sitting there.

Oisin can be seen repeatedly telling people “you don’t have to subscribe but I’d appreciate it if you did”, and telling them that the channel’s content is him “mostly f#$king about”.
After approaching the table with the man in the black cap he was pointed towards, Oisin says the usual line and after a few seconds of silence that feel like hours, a woman at the table says “no, thank you”.
Always the gent, he departs respectfully and lets them get back to whatever they were doing. Social anxiety fears this man.
It’s hard to tell from the back if the man is actually Will Ferrell. The curly hair and slight stubble are good indicators, as well as the fact that Ferrell is known to like visiting Tigh Neachtain’s.
However the man’s hair looks slightly too dark to be the top actor (no offence, Will), and it’s very doubtful that he would be back in Galway, as lovely as it is, just over a month after his last visit.
Neachtain’s was left starstruck in late May as they welcomed the A-list actor through their doors for a schelp of pints and a session. Staff were only too happy to have the comedy legend through their doors.
It appears the feeling was mutual, as Will was only too happy to pose for a photo with staff and could be seen beaming from ear to ear while on his visit west. The pub posted a series of photos on their social media on Friday as they captioned it with “…Did we just become best friends?” – a nod to ‘Stepbrothers’, one of Ferrell’s most popular movies.
The post received a wave of reactions from fans of Ferrell as one wrote: “What?! When? How cool, Ron Burgundy!”
