Wimbledon LIVE: Tennis results as Andy and Jamie Murray beaten in doubles

Tearful Andy Murray Receives Standing Ovation At Wimbledon’s Centre Court

A tearful Andy Murray was honoured on Centre Court in one of the final moments of his Wimbledon career. The 37-year-old was given a hero’s reception as he began his last appearance alongside his brother Jamie in the men’s doubles but the pair were beaten by Rinky Hijikata and John Peers. Murray still has mixed doubles to come with Emma Raducanu but the All England Club took the opportunity to celebrate his historic career.

British wildcard Jacob Fearnley gave Novak Djokovic a scare on Centre Court after forcing a fourth set, but was beaten by the seven-time champion in a thriller. Harriet Dart stunned British No 1 Katie Boulter in the third-set tiebreak before Jack Draper lost to former British No 1 and Wimbledon semi-finalist Cameron Norrie in another all-British clash on Court No 1.

Wimbledon 2024: Katie Boulter 6-4, 1-6, 6-5 Harriet Dart*

Brilliant from Boulter as her first two points are both good winners, firing shots past Dart for 30-0.

Another rally begins, but it ends after Dart hooks a return past the baseline for 40-0.

Dart gets back in it as she forces Boulter to loop a shot into the base of the net, before firing a superb return down the line from the serve.

And we’re at deuce after an error from Boulter as she fires wide when trying to guide it down the line!

And now Dart has the advantage, but she can’t take it as Boulter fires a shot past after the longest rally of the match so far (at 21 shots).

And Boulter takes the game after forcing the error with a powerful serve! 6-5 to the British number one in the decider.

Wimbledon 2024: Jacob Fearnley* 3-6 4-6 7-5 Novak Djokovic – SET!

Fearnley chips a return of serve long on the forehand. 15-0. He then nudges a backhand long after a short rally. 30-0.

He angles his next backhand nicely, though, and Djokovic’s own two-hander stops at the tape. 30-15.

Another error by Djokovic for parity in this game. 30-30.

WOW! Twice Fearnley almost has Djokovic beaten at the net, but the Serb gets volleys back on both wings… but his third volley is in the net!

Break point and set point to Fearnley! And Djokovic pushes a forehand wide!

SET TO FEARNLEY! The crowd is on its feet!!

Wimbledon 2024: Jacob Fearnley 3-6 4-6 6-5 Novak Djokovic*

Both players miss on the backhand in this game, but Djokovic does so too many times, eventually shoveling one long to allow Fearnley a hold to serve for 6-5…

Wimbledon 2024: Katie Boulter 6-4, 1-6, 5-5 Harriet Dart*

Dart’s first two points are easy enough, with Boulter making the errors to hand her a 30-0 lead.

Boulter swings the backhand into the net, and it’s 40-15.

And then we’re at 5-5 as Boulter fires another return long.

Wimbledon 2024: Jacob Fearnley* 3-6 4-6 5-5 Novak Djokovic

Djokovic eases to 30-0 before framing a forehand wide. 30-15.

This time it’s Fearnley who errs on the backhand, giving Djokovic two game points.

Another error from the Scot, and Nole holds.

Wimbledon 2024: Katie Boulter 6-4, 1-6, 5-4 Harriet Dart*

Mistakes from both players give each other one point, before a double fault from Boulter gives Dart a 30-15 lead.

An unforced error from Dart takes it to 30-all, and then Boulter’s cross-court effort is rifled past Dart for 40-30.

One point to hold serve, and it’s an excellent winner as she guides the shot down the line for 5-4.

If she can break Dart’s serve in the next game, she’ll have a place in the next round.

Wimbledon 2024: Jacob Fearnley 3-6 4-6 5-4 Novak Djokovic*

Fearnley is fighting valiantly here. He pulls off a couple of great backhand winners up the line to eventually secure a hold of serve, after a long, long game in which he had to save break point.

That was a crucial moment in keeping this match alive. The crowd is so invested in this one.

Over to Djokovic, who will now serve to stay in the set!

Wimbledon 2024: *Katie Boulter 6-4, 1-6, 4-4 Harriet Dart – BREAK

The first point of the next game ends with a brilliant backhand down the line from Boulter after an impressive rally.

Dart quickly levels, before a mishit shot takes it to 15-30. Boulter slams a second-serve return down the line for 40-15, and she’ll have two break points!

Dart saves the first, and then the second, after a good serve forces Boulter to drag the return wide!

Boulter quickly has the advantage though, as she seemed to learn her lesson and returns the serve straight back down the line.

And Boulter breaks after a brilliant shot down the line is too much for Dart to return!
