Novak Djokovic will face Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final for the second straight year.

This time Djokovic will seek redemption against Alcaraz, who won last year’s final in five sets.

Alcaraz defeated Daniil Medvedev 6-7(1), 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 to earn his second straight trip to the final.

The defending champion fell behind early but rallied to defeat Medvedev and secure his rematch against Djokovic.

“I’m really happy about my performance today,” Alcaraz said after the match (h/t ATP Tour.) “I started really nervously. He was dominating the match, playing great tennis with his serve and his return game.

“It was difficult for me but I tried to push out the nerves at the beginning of the second set…. I tried to hit great shots, I moved well, so in general I think I played a pretty good match.”

Alcaraz, who also won the 2022 US Open and 2024 French Open, is hoping to stretch his major final record to 4-0 as he takes on Djokovic.

The defending champion was in the crowd Friday to watch as Djokovic defeated Lorenzo Mussetti in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6(2), 6-3.

Less than one month after undergoing right knee surgery, Djokovic is back in the final of a Grand Slam for the 37th time in his career.

“I said before the tournament that if I didn’t think I had a chance of going deep in the tournament I probably wouldn’t be playing,” Djokovic said after the match (h/t ATP Tour.)

Djokovic continued: “I am very satisfied and excited to be in another final. I don’t want to stop here and hopefully I will get my hands on that trophy on Sunday.”

The seven-time Wimbledon champion will now seek redemption when the action gets underway on Sunday.
