Woman, 70s, dies after being knocked down by cyclist

A woman in her 70s has died in hospital, days after being knocked down by a cyclist in the Ranelagh area of south Dublin city.

The woman was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital after the incident on Ranelagh Road at around 11pm on Tuesday 4 June.

She was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital where she died yesterday evening.

The male cyclist was not injured.

Gardaí have said they are investigating the incident.

A technical examination was carried out at the scene and inquiries are ongoing.
